Developing a Writing Intensive Accounting Capstone Course with a Research Emphasis

Abstract

This paper describes our efforts in creating and teaching a writing intensive accounting capstone course with a major research emphasis for senior accounting majors. We discuss the rationale and our approach to creating the course, along with our experience in the classroom and suggestions for improvement. Overall the course was a success; however, some modifications could be made that would make the experience a more positive one for both faculty and students.
